This last fall and winter were pretty busy for us. My parents completed the sale of the family business and their house, so they came out here for a month and a half starting around thanksgiving. Over thanksgiving week, Leslie and I went to Costa Rica, which was a lot of fun and included me on a zip line. At some point, I’ll get some of those photos up on Flickr.

After we returned, my dad and I spent a bunch of time on the 3rd stage of home renovations. For this one, we took the existing shelves out of the laundry area, painted and replaced the lights in there, and put up ikea cabinets. Some of the other projects included shelving in the garage, some improvements in the home office including changing the baseboard, new crown molding in the office and bedroom, and a few other odds and ends. At this point, we are done with pretty much everything except for the kitchen, which will require a major remodeling sometime later this year after we recover from the wedding expenses.

I’ve been watching the Bears for over 20 years and virtually every one of those years has been pretty rocky. Somewhere along the way, we became where old quarterbacks came to die or where young quarterbacks came to get all their career interceptions out of their systems. However, during last night’s game, a lot of commentators were talking about the fact that it looks like the bears are for real this year. Somehow, they’ve emerged as the only undefeated team in the NFC, but I’m just hoping that they don’t choke too bad between now and January. This article on ESPN.com pretty well sums up what I’m thinking currently.
