Somehow, the bears have become the NFL’s first team to clinch a playoff spot. This is despite have a quarterback who fairly regularly throws 3 interceptions in a game. I guess it helps when the rest of your division is really bad. Hopefully, they can finish the rest of the season strong and win a first round bye in the playoffs and home field advantage.

It looks like the 49ers are pretty seriously investigating a move to Santa Clara. Not quite as cool as if the Bears decided to move to Santa Clara, but this story is a lot more likely. It might even be easy enough to be able to take public transit over there from Mountain View or Los Altos depending on what the parking situation ends up like.

I’ve been watching the Bears for over 20 years and virtually every one of those years has been pretty rocky. Somewhere along the way, we became where old quarterbacks came to die or where young quarterbacks came to get all their career interceptions out of their systems. However, during last night’s game, a lot of commentators were talking about the fact that it looks like the bears are for real this year. Somehow, they’ve emerged as the only undefeated team in the NFC, but I’m just hoping that they don’t choke too bad between now and January. This article on ESPN.com pretty well sums up what I’m thinking currently.

What is up with this season? Today marks the latest contribution to a 7 game win streak for the Bears. For awhile, I had decided that it was simply that the NFC North was filled with crappy teams. However, after more and more wins, it seems that the team might actually be pretty good. They have the highest rated defense in the NFL, allowing only 11 points per game; however, it can be said it is usually not your defense that gets you the wins in the post season. Right now, I really wish that I had NFL Sunday Ticket, but the NFL Network’s content on Comcast on demand at least lets me watch 10 minutes of highlights every week.
For a rundown of the different football tv packages out there, I found this page interesting.
