As I am somewhat hopelessly behind on “news” due to work, random real estate stuff, and attempting to have a life, I decided to throw out a quick post about things that I’m waiting for in my life that for one reason or another seem to be both approaching quickly and not fast coming fast enough.
- Apple putting out a laptop that I really want to buy. This hasn’t really been the case since the 12″ powerbook came out. This won’t happen until they release one with a good sized Pentium M or something, but the rumors are that Apple is throwing a lot of resources at getting something out there soon.
- Getting a home computer with USB2. Now that Applet has dropped Firewire from iPods, a lack of USB2 in my laptop is starting to make me sad. Probably this will have to wait until the previous item is addressed.
- XtremeMax to send me my Nano case and my FM transmitter. I was originally told that my case would ship around Nov 3rd, and it still hasn’t shipped yet. I can certainly understand issues with products selling out, but it is just an ipod case.
- NetNewsWire to get NewsGator support and other features for people like me that paid for the application. This means that I’ll be able to still use a great application for reading my news at home and also be able to use the NewsGator web application or FeedDemon on my PC and have all of my read and unread articles kept in sync.
- Get into my new condo. It’s currently looking like I’ll close on the 5th. I picked up Home Designer 6.0 the other day at Fry’s, and I can’t wait to input the dimensions and start playing around with some ideas I’ve got.
- Get some of my computer projects out of the way so that I not think about them anymore. This is feeling like more of a reality now that I’m back to doing more web coding. My css, javascript, and php have started to get unrusty, which will make cranking out some WordPress theme customizations, putting up a wiki, and styling the main website something that I might be able to get done in a reasonable timeframe.
