In all the hubbub about “Web 2.0″, one of the products that everyone says is a shining example of what you can do with a modern web application is Zimbra. Zimbra is an open source alternative to something like Microsoft Exchange that supports standards like POP, IMAP, and iCalendar so that it can work with numerous different email and calendar clients.
