After looking at my blog and wondering why there weren’t any titles (or more precisely, what a person would do to enter a title), I looked through the help and found the option to turn on titles. This really made me think about who wouldn’t want titles? Are there people that just want to throw up a random stream of consciousness with a blatant disregard for trying to summarize the information that they then thrust into the ether that is the “web”? (Of course, that might also be the point.) After turning on said titles, I went in and added titles to everything, which made me think about revisionist history and Scott’s efforts back in the Contori days to prevent us from allowing note editing so that no one could go and make him say crazy stuff like “I like JAG” (you know that you’re all waiting for the JAG post). Ahhhh … memories. Also, does anyone else find it odd that the spell checker for a blogging tool doesn’t recognize the word “blog“?

Dave Winer (one of the first blogger) doesn’t use titles (http://www.scripting.com). Maybe that is why?

I’m all for the titles, though I’m going to back Scott on the revisionist history (it would wreck my note groups concept, for one thing).
And you title you life anyway, day by day. Example: Puddin’, nuff said.
