For some reason, seeing the following made me laugh. It’s times like this that I see the value add in the most recent note functionality.
Most Recent Note: Reason for Rejection set to whoops
There are also times that I wish that my dating life was a workflow with a defined process and change tracking. Then, I could get notes like this from women.
Since Joe asked for it, here is my review of Batman Begins. There are probably going to be some spoilers in here somewhere and some background for people who haven’t read a bunch of random Batman comics. All in all, I was fairly impressed with the way that they tied together some unrelated characters and packaged up his origin in what was mostly a neat little box. The movie plays a lot like Batman: Year One in terms of general tone and characterization, which is good since I still believe it is one of the most believable takes on the whole batman persona. They even threw in the bat summoning device in the boot from year one. The bat gear was pretty impressive, and I loved the depiction of Gotham.
On the down side, I wasn’t all that impressed with the fight scenes. The camera work was really jumpy. I had hopes for something more in the vein of Equilibrium, but it there were still some good action scenes. The other main problem with a movie like this one is that you spend a lot of time doing setup for the rest of the movie. The section of story in tibet was pretty good, but I felt like it gave too much of an impression that Ra’s Al Ghul was totally responsible for his training. In the end, I enjoyed it. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first Spider Man movie, but it wasn’t too far behind.
For anyone interested in where the different parts of the story came from, there is a section on Danny O’Neil (the man responsible for Ra’s Al Ghul) in this week’s Lying in the Gutters. Christopher Priest is the one that came up with the whole “Bruce Wayne goes to Tibet to learn martial arts.”
For all of you eagerly anticipating the Fantastic Four movie, you can buy a “real” Dr. Doom mask.
Joe’s comment to the previous blog entry has started me realizing that I am about 15 years behind on blog entries (the first 12 years of my life didn’t contain much that I really believe to be blogable (is that with 1 g or two? (can you really nest parentheticals like this?))). That is why I am throwing this post open to all of my friends that have blog entries they just can’t wait for. Some possibilities include:

Joe’s comment to the post on titles reminded me of the fact that I can create and kill a catch phrase faster than anyone else I’ve ever seen. Should I be proud of that? “puddin” (as in the pudding snacks), “yup”, and “nuff said” are merely some of my victims. A friend was talking about a Vegas trip the other day, which got me thinking about the fact that it is probably been around 4 years since the infamous “Vegas … nuf said” email. Time really flies.
Eclipse 3.1 is out today. After trying out at least 5 prereleases (including the almost final RC4), I’m very impressed with its quality. I’ve gotten my setup at work to use the build automatically feature and it almost never grinds my system to a halt despite the size of the codebase. One of these days, I’m going to build a plugin just for fun. Thinking about the way the application is structured got me thinking the other day if my dream of pluggable feature modules as the next step in software development is somehow just around the corner somewhere. If your application were just made up of a lot of features like Eclipse plugins, it would be easier to outsource.
Some days I feel like Edison. Since I’m already including one link to Warren Ellis, why not link to a little exposition on Fell. It sounds like it should be interesting, even to non-comic people since it isn’t full of superheroes or crazy stuff like that.
A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.
